25 July 2008 The Chris Cornell interview from Projekt Revolution will air next week as part of FUSE's "No. 1 Countdown Rock" show. It premieres on Monday 28 July at 11pm EST (8pm PST) and repeats are on Thursday 31 July at 12am & 3pm EST and Saturday 2 August at 2am and 11pm EST.
22 July 2008 Chris called into a few Philadelphia radio stations prior to his show there on Saturday 19th. His chat with WMMR (thanks Kyle) has been posted online - see interviews page. Chris debuted new album title track Scream (sadly not included in the podcast for copyright reasons) and explained that single edits were difficult to do because the album's a conceptual piece arranged as one long piece of music without track breaks. He also confirmed that all the music was written in the studio in collaboration with producer/musician Timbaland. He said that he'd felt ready for a "quantum leap" and that his main fear as a musician was the danger of "finding a comfortable corner and sitting in it."
Long Gone is listed at Amazon.com as a download available July 29. The track is from Chris Cornell's new album Scream, written and produced in collaboration with Timbaland. The album is due for release in autumn 2008.
16 July 2008 Two more song extracts from Chris Cornell's forthcoming album were briefly previewed at Imeem. They were from songs called Ground Zero and Watch Out. Meanwhile, producer Timbaland and his frequent collaborator Justin Timberlake have both given Chris's albuma huge vote of confidence. A new article at MTV.com about Timbaland says: "The Virginia producer recently completed an album with another iconic performer, Chris Cornell. Those two spent six months making music, and Timbaland did all the beats for that one as well. "It's the best work I've done so far," he said. "I could be like, 'Wow. I really took it there.' " That's obviously speaking volumes for someone who's made so many classics throughout his career, including Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds. "It beats Justin's album," Tim smiled. "Justin even said that. He listened to it and said, 'You did it again.' " According to a Projekt Revolution press release, the album will be entitled Scream. And here's another new promo photo...
15 July 2008 On the eve of the new Projekt Revolution tour, a track from Chris Cornell's forthcoming Timbaland-produced album has been previewed in full on Ryan Seacrest's website. Part of the track is also playing at Chris's MySpace. It's called Long Gone. There are also new promo photos available...
The forthcoming Projekt Revolution tour looks set to produce some interesting collaborations. As Chris told Artisan News, "It's something that fans will see and it's the only time they are going to see it. They are not going to see that lineup all at the same show together again ever. So, one of the ways that makes it special and they take that away and they see Busta and Linkin Park doing a song together or they see me come up and sing with some one else's set or something, that's the only time it's going to happen."
11 July 2008 Regarding Chris Cornell MySpace "Free Ringtone" Bulletins Dear Friends and Fans, Yesterday afternoon, an attacker gained unauthorized access to Chris Cornell's MySpace account. The attacker, pretending to be Chris, sent several bulletins in a short amount of time to all of Chris' friends telling everyone to sign-up for "Free Ringtones" and possibly become one of 10 fans selected for an all expenses paid trip to see Chris perform live. It then had a signup for $9.99 for a monthly service which we assume is fraudulent. If you signed up for the service we strongly urge you to immediately contact your mobile service provider to inform them of what transpired. Additionally, if you were affected, please contact us directly (support@chriscornell.com) and let us know. Please note that we will never send multiple bulletins in a very short time-frame to everyone and we will never knowingly urge fans to sign up for free services that secretly try to enter you into a subscription based contract. Chris Cornell and his team enjoy running contests for fans and giving away opportunities like Meet & Greets, concert tickets. etc. With that said, please be aware of the sites you are being directed to, e-mail addresses that you should contact, and the amount of information being requested. You can also check Chris' MySpace Blog or his Official Site to ensure an offer/contest is listed there. If anything seems odd or "out of place" please feel free to contact us at support@chriscornell.com. If you come across a site pretending to be Chris Cornell or are contacted directly by "Chris Cornell" in e-mail, private messages, etc. please contact us and report the situation. We want to thank all of you who diligently contacted us about the situation. Your notifications allowed us and MySpace to act very quickly and we sincerely apologize to everyone for this situation. We are still looking into it, but please rest assured that we are doing everything possible to prevent things of this nature from happening again. Your patience and support is greatly appreciated. Thank you. -The Cornell Team
3 July 2008 Sadly, it's been confirmed that Natasha Shneider of the American band Eleven died on Tuesday after a battle with cancer. Chris Cornell fans will remember her with respect as Chris's collaborator and co-writer on his album Euphoria Morning and as a member of his touring band in 1999-2000. Our sympathies are with her partner Alain Johannes, and with all her friends and colleagues past and present. A memorial fund has been set up to help pay for Natasha's medical care in her last illness.
