Chris returned to this San Diego venue just two months after fitting in a summer show here. After playing Scream right through, he gave the crowd a surprise encore - Temple of The Dog classic Hunger Strike. Later, he told a journalist: "It's really been amazing...the best way I can illustrate it is San Diego -- I played a sold-out show at the House of Blues two months ago doing basically anything I wanted to in my catalogue, up to bringing in new songs, and then just last week I did a sold-out show playing nothing but the new album, and the response was the same, which is pretty incredible. It was really kind of moving to me to see that people are interested and listening to completely new music from an artist, because that's not always the case and there are fans who aren't going to like this album."

Scream live is amazing. I danced the entire time a 2 foot by 2 foot space, balanced at the edge of a step. But I could not stop dancing and I don't even dance!!! Chris is so into it. So much emotion pouring out of him on stage. And he seems so happy right now! So different from how he was just a few short weeks ago at the Irvine show.

No one looked bored at all. Everyone up on that stage was having a great time. At the end of the night Chris told the audience that we are the "REAL" fans and that is was pretty great that we came out to hear an album we've never even heard before be performed. I don't know about the rest of the stops on this tour, but San Diego was into it.

The place was packed, the line was still long when we came in way late after the doors opened. People were asking for tickets out front but no one I saw was giving theirs up! But, he looked great, he loved what he was doing, I loved watching him, and, when he did 'Watch Out' the audience went nuts. It was quiet for a bit, I guess that is part of the cd? You hear some radio type talking in the background and then the 'WAKE UP!' and Chris jumps up from where he was sitting on the stage and the band really gets into this one, the lights, everything. I LOVED that. The crowd loved it. Anyways, while it was quiet, I did hear people saying 'Play some rock!' so when WO started it sort of gave them what they wanted, eh?

On the negative side, we did hear some negativity. Except the end, my GOD. He sang 'Hunger Strike'... and, well, I know I went nuts. Sis and I ran up to the side of the stage and listened to it there. I told this guy as we were leaving after, 'He wasn't supposed to do that. This show was to be all Scream. That was a gift for San Diego'.

Long Gone - thanks IWantMo
