This was such a fantastic show, I am nearly voiceless. The venue is amazingly good for a rock show (if you are able to get up close--and I may have been right around you going berzerk!!). The cool thing was being able to hang out with two sets of friends, my buddies had 3 seats Row C, which was slightly elevated. It was fantastic to hang out with them and be at an elevated level that was basically the same level of the stage and be so CLOSE! Running down and bouncing around to songs down below in the 'pit' area was a WONDERFUL option as well!!! I held up a sign during the acoustic bit for "Zero Chance", which wasn't played, but the cool thing is that the back of my sign had "Superunknown", which had already been played. What an amazing experience, first Portland and then Coquitlam. I wish I could do the 'Loops as well, but alas...$.

I just got back from the Coquitlam show and I'm soooo happy!  The only song missing from the above set list is Call Me A Dog which played during the acoustic part of the show.  The show was a good 2 and a half hours long which is unheard of for that venue.  They like to have everybody out by 11:00 so that they will go to the casino.  Anyway ... it looks like they bent the rules for Mr. Chris Cornell,  rock icon extraordinaire.

From the minute Chris hit the stage, I was enthralled!  I had seen him 3 times before but this time was the best ever.  The others were fantastic too but this was better.  We had the most amazing seats, thanks to Vicky Cornell ...THANK YOU VICKY!!  From Trudy and gang.  The energy was incredible and the crowd was great.  Chris has really hit his stride with the band.  They have such a great connection and the addition of the keyboards is huge.  Gotta have keyboards for When I'm Down.  Chris was so great with the crowd.  Lots of hand shaking and slapping and eye contact.

Chris had his family there just off to the side of the stage and his children were dancing and singing and oh so darned cute.  During You Know My Name they came right out to center stage and Chris was trying to encourage them to sing with him.   Finally during the last few lines, Toni overcame her shyness and sang a couple of lines with her daddy.  Later Chris Jr. had a set of drumsticks and was playing them against the edge of Will's raised stage.  He's got good rhythm for such a young one.  Future drummer???  Great moments for sure.

I have to say that I'm really loving the new songs live.  Maybe it was where they were placed in the set list but they didn't seem that out of place.  They take on a different kind of energy without the overproduction that I've heard from the record.  My favorite of the newbies was Watch Out.  It has this real driving beat and a certain aggressiveness that I like.

So after 2 and a half hours I still wanted more.  I loved every minute of the show but when it was over there was so much more I would have loved to hear.  Sunshower, Shape of Things To Come, Follow My Way, Blind Dogs, 4Th of July ... I could go on but the man would have to play a 10 hour show for me to hear everything I want! LOL.

I was very privileged (again thanks to Vicky) to have M&G passes and I did get to shake Chris's hand and pose for a picture with him but it was very rushed and we couldn't get anything signed.  He must have been pretty tired but he was very gracious and when I asked Chris to thank Vicky for me he said,"Well she's right over there" and then steered me in her direction.  Unfortunately I didn't get very far before I was being ushered out of the venue by the powers that be.  So I never did get to say a proper thank you. That was the only negative in a night full of greatness.

The show rocked and was heavy in Audioslave stuff which was great since I love AS. Highlights of the show for me personally was the extended version of Reach Down, and ending the show with Show Me How to Live. Man that song is so great to end a show with.

What an awesome show.... from start to finish the energy was crazy! and so much audioslave and soundgarden, it was sick. 2.5 hours on stage? who does that? chris cornell that's who. to see such a great show at such a small venue i feel blessed.

I was so excited when I got 2 Row 3 center tickets to see Chris. It was going to be awesome. I love his solo stuff, Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. I went with my Bro John, we hooked up around 6:30 in the parking lot. We downed some beers and listened to tunes in the van before heading in. I was at the Burnaby casino the night before and lost a few bucks so wasn't that interested in gambling again at this one. The place was very quiet - John wanted to check out the horse racing and I liked this monte carlo machine I've won at before. I walked up to it and in 4 spins I turned my $20 into $115. I cashed out and went to the bar. The winnings covered my ticket to the show and beers. I was set.

The band Mobile opened up for Chris. They were really good - we really enjoyed them. They've got some good tunes and their sound was perfect. John and I met up with the band after their show - great young guys from Montreal. Security was all over everyone that had a camera so I didn't take a shots of Mobile live in the fear that I would lose my camera before Chris came out. When someone pulled a camera out, they would shine their flashights on the person and security would give them a talking to.

We then went to our seats for Chris but instead went right to the front on the floor. We were a couple of people deep but after a few songs, made it to the railing front and center. The crowd was much more civilized than most show so I had no problem squeezing myself in there. Chris is a cool guy. He came out very casually and started singing a few tunes. It took me a couple of songs to get right into it but once I did, I was hooked. He was brilliant and the songs he played were fantastic.

He brought his kids out (2 and 4) and they had their little earphones on to dampen the noise danced around the stage a bit and sang you know my name.
I high fived him a few times, he came over to me sang with one foot on the railing in front of me and it was awesome. I got some great shots and video. Security didn't like it when I videod but shots were OK.
Chris did an amazing solo acoustic set of a few songs. I got some great shots.

I got a few guitar picks from the band and one of the guys came over directly to me and gave me the setlist. That was cool. After the show, we went back into the casino and we met the guitarist for a kodak moment for John. We threw $25 away at the roulette table and headed home.
